Business consultant

Matt is a specialist in data visualisation and the communication of information, with extensive experience in consulting and executive management. He spent his 20s in academia, researching for his PhD in the management of technological innovation at Aston University while facilitating tutorials with undergraduate and MBA students. He then moved into journalism before recognising the opportunities provided by the commercialisation of the Internet. After a spell as the editor of ComputerWeekly.com, he worked as a consultant on Internet projects in London and New York, and managed user experience practices in the UK and France.

Following a company merger, Matt relocated to the USA to assist with the integration process and lead the enterprise content practice, before cofounding a next-generation media measurement start-up, where he was responsible for operations. During this time, he gained his MBA through distance-learning with the Open University Business School, which formalised his increasing interest in ideation and creativity. After living in Manhattan for six years, he moved to Aspen where he undertook a sports sabbatical, competing in Alpine skiing, triathlon and cycle races.

Since his return to Europe, Matt has provided boutique consulting services to early-stage companies, focussing on delivery and subject-matter expertise. He is a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner and qualified triathlon and cycle coach. He describes his interests as writing, coaching, cycling and the quest for the ultimate pizza. He hopes to foster better collaboration and understanding through entrepreneurship. He is passionate about and excited by mentoring through Mowgli, both in what he can contribute to his mentees and the programme as a whole and from the personal growth that he will experience as a result of his involvement.
